Drug interactions
Antihistamines in horses, such as cetirizine and tripelennamine, commonly interact with CNS depressants (sedatives like acepromazine) to cause increased sedation, ataxia, or excitement. Ivermectin, if given 12 hours before cetirizine, significantly increases its concentration, while corticosteroids can mask allergic skin test results
