ESC to Distribute Over $10K in Grants & Sponsorships in 2022
Equine Sports Council is excited to share news of our growth in 2022 and announce over $10,000 in Sponsorship & Grant Payouts. Congratulations to the Illinois American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association – they will receive over $1,600 in Sponsorship Grant Funds generated from 25% of the fees that their show series collected. These funds will be used to sponsor classes, awards or hospitality events at the 2023 IASPHA shows. ESC continues to grow our Network and would like to welcome several new shows this year, including Wisconsin Futurity, Oshkosh Charity, ASAW Summerfun, and Dixie Cup. ESC Gives Grant to Monarch National Championship
As part of Equine Sports Council ongoing give back program the Monarch National Championship was awarded a $2500 grant at the 2022 annual UPHA Convention in Orlando, Florida. All horse shows in the ESC Horse Show Network receive annual marketing grants, along with access to officials liability insurance, legal protections and a grievance process. “All of us at Monarch wish to express our gratitude to the Equine Sports Council for their generous grant of $2500, presented during the UPHA National Conference in Orlando!“

Minnesota’s Octoberfest Horse Show to Receive Marketing Grant from Equine Sports Council
The Minnesota Octoberfest managed by Bill and Wendy Couch is the latest horse show to join the growing network of Equine Sports Council, a non-Olympic horse show governing organization. By joining the ESC Network, the Octoberfest show will receive a marketing grant in 2021 based on the number of horse show entries in 2020. Tom Sworm, a registered ESC Official and the judge of Octoberfest, will receive ESC’s complimentary 12 month – $6 Million dollar NASO official’s liability insurance policy that offers protections at all shows and clinics held in the USA and Canada. ESC to Host Online Bidding for the NY Morgan Stallion Service Auction
Equine Sports Council will host online bidding for the 2021 New York Morgan Stallion Service Auction (NYSSA) beginning Sunday, January 17, 2021. For decades now, every year in January dozens of breedings to World Champion Morgan Stallions are auctioned at NYSSA with the proceeds going to the class purse at the New York Morgan Regional Championship horse show. The offspring from these stallions then receive thousands of dollars in prize money when winning their classes at the NY Morgan horse show held each September. Equine Sports Council is the governing organization for non-Olympic equestrian sports and supports a growing network of horse shows. The Monarch National Championship
The Monarch Horse Show Network consists of nearly 100 participating equine events across the United States. Southern Saddlebred Spring Fling Gets Green Light from the State of TN
On May 22, the Governor of Tennessee issued an executive order allowing for Large Venues to operate at 50% capacity while implementing social distancing measures between groups. This green light has paved the way for an American Saddlebred horse show to be held in Shelbyville, TN, June 17-20. Jackie and James Hale, show co-chairs, have been in talks with the Calsonic Arena since April to relocate the Southern Saddlebred Spring Fling to this venue, pending the State’s reopening plans. Equine Sports Council Adds Scott Matton to Advisory Board
Scott Matton of Knollwood Farm in Heartland, WI has joined the Equine Sports Council Advisory Board. Scott has previously served on the American Saddlebred Horse Association, American Saddlebred Registry and United Professional Horseman’s Association boards for many, many years. He is the author of the Championship designation program (CH status) for Equitation horses for ASR.
