Bio Security Guidelines

Any horse with a detectable fever while at an ESC event should be reported to a veterinarian. All horses treated at an ESC show with medications must have their fever checked by the vet and documented on the Medication Report. Any horse approaching 103 degrees should be withdrawn from competition and examined by a veterinarian and must be released to return to competition.

It is the responsibility of the Agent and attending vet to report all high fevers to show management immediately. Each state and equine facility may have differing guidelines. Below are ESC guidelines that should be followed until local authorities have instructed otherwise.
