Prohibited Individuals

The ESC Rulebook does not prohibit show management from refusing entries or prohibiting attendance by persons, to the extent that such refusal or prohibition does not conflict with applicable state or federal law.

ESC currently maintains a list of approximately 26 prohibited individuals for horse show management within the ESC Network of Sanctioned Shows. ESC may also publish the list of prohibited individuals in ESC News on its website.

ESC prohibits individuals who violate WL701 Human and Animal Welfare Policy. This includes those with criminal convictions or who are currently serving a sentence, probation, or parole for offenses involving violence, sexual misconduct, intentional physical harm, animal abuse, or animal cruelty. Additionally, individuals listed on state or federal sex offender registries are prohibited from attending ESC-sanctioned horse shows in any capacity, including as spectators, exhibitors, trainers, coaches, grooms, or any other participants.

ESC prohibits individuals who violate WL702 Controlled Medications Policy, WL703 Animal Cruelty, WL704 Horse Protection Act, WL706 Prohibited Practices, and SP618 Possible Violations.  Please see the ESC Rulebook for more information.
