Tamara Tucker joins the Board of Equine Sports Council as Secretary & General Counsel
Equine Sports Council, a nonprofit horse show support organization, is very pleased to announce that Tamara Tucker has joined our Board of Directors as Secretary of the Board and General Counsel. Tamara will oversee the organization’s legal affairs, including the resolution process for rule violations. Tamara Tucker practices law in Virginia and South Carolina in the areas of business litigation, insurance defense, equine law, and appellate law. She attended Mary Washington College where she rode on the varsity Equestrian Team. Tammy then went on to law school at the University of South Carolina, graduating in 1994. Lori Nelson Joins Equine Sports Council
Equine Sports Council (ESC) is pleased to announce that Lori Nelson has joined us as a Consultant. Lori has over 16 years’ experience in equestrian governance and brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous supporter, Lori is working on our General Rules development, followed by Breed/Discipline rules, and will be the primary contact for shows that want to affiliate with our organization for governance and support. A non-profit, non-member organization, Equine Sports Council is offering an alternative to US Olympic National Governing Body affiliation. Equine Sports Council, in collaboration with horse trainers, amateur owners, show managers and legal counsel, has developed Horse Show Governance Standards that can be licensed for use by open/unrated horse shows. The Application fee is $50 per show to use the rules, standards and class specifications, all of which will be provided in PDF format to your attendees. Shane Darnell Bio
Involved in the show horse industry for over 40 years, Shane Darnell has shown under the direction of Taylor River Farm for the last 15 years, achieving numerous Amateur World Titles in the Western, Hunt and English Pleasure divisions. Shane has served on the board for the American Morgan Horse Education Charitable Trust. In 2019, Shane recognized the need for an alternative non-Olympic governing body and co-founded Equine Sports Council with Jackie Hale.
