Equine Sports Council is honored to announce its Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) comprised of representatives who are industry leaders in the American Saddlebred, Morgan and Hackney breeds. ESC Selects Industry Advisors for Collaborative Release of the 2024 Class Specifications
ESC has identified key industry advisors that will collaborate in the release of ESC’s 2024 Rules & Guidelines. This Advisory Team will be reviewing sports concepts for the individual breeds, and updating and adding Class Specifications for Saddlebreds, Hackneys and Roadsters. These additional class specifications will be made available in the coming weeks. ESC is also consulting with Veterinarians practicing in our show horse industry to advise on appropriate use of therapeutic drugs and medications. ESC Network Expands Coast to Coast

Just over 5 years ago, Jackie Hale from the Saddlebred world called me and we were introduced to Tamara Tucker, a well known equine sports attorney. Most recently Dr Liz Maloney, a veterinarian and A circuit hunter/jumper equestrian, has rounded out our not-for-profit venture, Equine Sports Council. ESC is a non-olympic show horse governing organization for all levels of horse shows and equestrians, ranging from academy to seasoned riders winning national championship titles. Equine Sports Council Hosts Riding Instructor’s Workshop in Nashville, TN
Over 60 Instructors from across the United States and Canada met in Nashville, TN January 14 – 16 for 3 days of networking and learning, organized and hosted by Equine Sports Council. The Workshop started with a Welcome Reception at Teddy’s Tavern, sponsored by ESC and the Monarch Championship Horse Show. Attendees enjoyed food, drink, live entertainment and icebreaker games. On Monday morning, seminar topics included Marketing, Legal and Insurance, followed by interactive Group Discussions that afternoon. Tuesday morning featured an invigorating keynote address by Drew Epperson of Epperson Coaching, which was followed by a trip to Milestone Stables for a hands-on demonstration of teaching techniques and tips for both…

Lesson Horse Application
ESC is sponsoring the Adoption Fee and Transport (up to $1,250 each) of two Lesson Horses sourced from Rescue Organizations in our Show Horse industry. Academy Programs in need of a lesson horse, particularly ones in “underserved” or new areas, are encouraged to apply by January 31, 2023. Applications will be reviewed and two winners selected by February 15th. Rescue groups will be contacted, based on the location of the winning stables, and we will assist in the sourcing, adopting and delivery of the lesson horses.

ESC to Distribute Over $10K in Grants & Sponsorships in 2022
Equine Sports Council is excited to share news of our growth in 2022 and announce over $10,000 in Sponsorship & Grant Payouts. Congratulations to the Illinois American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association – they will receive over $1,600 in Sponsorship Grant Funds generated from 25% of the fees that their show series collected. These funds will be used to sponsor classes, awards or hospitality events at the 2023 IASPHA shows. ESC continues to grow our Network and would like to welcome several new shows this year, including Wisconsin Futurity, Oshkosh Charity, ASAW Summerfun, and Dixie Cup. ESC Gives Grant to Monarch National Championship
As part of Equine Sports Council ongoing give back program the Monarch National Championship was awarded a $2500 grant at the 2022 annual UPHA Convention in Orlando, Florida. All horse shows in the ESC Horse Show Network receive annual marketing grants, along with access to officials liability insurance, legal protections and a grievance process. “All of us at Monarch wish to express our gratitude to the Equine Sports Council for their generous grant of $2500, presented during the UPHA National Conference in Orlando!“
